Flybe believes in rewarding its pilots and employs some of the highest paid turboprop pilots in Europe. 

A turboprop line captain who joins Flybe now will be earning more than £55,000, inclusive of flight pay, after just two year’s service.

We have vacancies for our Dash 8 Q400 fleet at most of our bases.

As our expansion continues, so do the opportunities. 

Our basic requirements are as follows:
• Air Transport Pilots Licence (or frozen ATPL) (UK or JAA)
• Class 1 Medical
• The ability to work and reside in the EU.
• Under 65 years of age (our current retirement age is 65)

Entry Requirements

Q400 Direct Entry Captains need a minimum of 2,500 hours total and a minimum of 1500 hours P1, of which 500 hour should be in command.  Ideally this should be on multi-crew aeroplanes weighing in excess of 10 tonnes. Your experience will be assessed on an individual basis.

‘Fast-track’ Command is now available to First Officers with sufficient time (2,500 hours including a minimum of 1500 hours on a Jet or turbo-prop in excess of 10 tonnes) to be considered. In addition you must have a command recommendation from your current employer in the last 12 months.
